Go in with the child or let them be independent?

Airo Space Kids is a place where parents can play together with their children. They often and willingly take advantage of this option. However, sometimes they too need a break.  Undoubtedly, every mum and dad deserves to relax, but separations can sometimes be difficult - not only for the toddler placed in an unusual situation, but also for their carers. Here are some tips on how to cope with them:

  • Above all, you must realise that your child will not be alone. A team of qualified animators will be watching over his safety. They will not let him get bored or miss you, they will provide him with unforgettable experiences and attractions.
  • If you are nevertheless worried that he will miss something, prepare a favourite mascot, a drink or a small snack and leave it in a fixed place - especially if it makes you feel calmer. However, don't let yourself go crazy! Remember that you will be absent for an hour, maybe two, and your child, in the throes of play, will probably not notice it at all. Even if your child is shy, don't worry - he or she will quickly make contact with other Airo guests and our staff.
  • It is very important to talk, to explain where you are going, for how long, what the little one will be doing there, who he should turn to if he has a problem. But don't overwhelm him with too much information, only talk about the essentials.
  • The moment of separation should not be prolonged. It doesn't do either parents or the child any good - especially the child, who may become distraught and afterwards find it much more difficult to encourage him or her to enter the playroom. Give your child a hug, say goodbye, walk away with a firm step, don't turn around and look at him or her from a distance or your anxiety may set in.
Going out is supposed to be a pleasure, both for the child and for you. Instead of fretting, try to relax, catch your breath - have a coffee in the Airo Cafe, for example. From the mezzanine floor you can discreetly glance from time to time at your carefree toddler, conquering mazes, sliding down pontoons or conquering the go-kart track.
