How to spend time actively with your child?

Playing with your child is extremely important on many levels. It builds and strengthens bonds between family members, teaches, regulates emotions and, above all, is the moment when we give the child our full attention. In these times of national quarantine, ideas on how to spend time with your child are quickly running out, so we want to help you with this! In this post you will find 5 creative and interesting ideas on how to actively spend time with your child.

  1. Obstacle course

We use everything in the house that can be used as an obstacle for this. Chairs, cushions, pots, blankets, let your imagination carry you away. We make a track out of the objects and the child's task is to complete it in the fastest time possible. You can add variety by adding challenges, e.g. try to walk backwards, run on all fours, count to 10 while running. This way of being active with your child develops coordination, confidence and fitness!

  1. Chemical experiments

Ignite your child's curiosity about the world, and experiments are a great tool for this. And when you can use things you always have at home for this, things become even easier. One of the most interesting experiments is the self-inflating balloon.
For the experiment you will need:

-baking soda

-vinegar

-empty bottle

-balloon

We pour vinegar into the bottle and two teaspoons of baking soda into the balloon. We then place the balloon over the neck of the bottle, and when the balloon is well attached, we pour the contents of the balloon into the vinegar and observe the effect!

  1. Playing with gravity

This game is a great idea to spend active time with your child. Lay out pieces of aluminium foil (gravitational fields) on the floor, when the music plays you fly freely through space, silence means a black hole has appeared, so you need to get into the gravitational field as quickly as possible so you don't fly too far away from the ship.

 4. hopki paws

On the floor, lay out a track with pre-printed hand and foot sheets, and one by one try to pass the track without making a mistake by placing your left or right hand or foot respectively. Believe it or not, there is no shortage of laughs!

  1. Waiter's Run

You will need plastic or paper plates and a ping-pong ball for each team. The game is designed for a minimum of 4 people. The player lines up at the finish line. On hearing "start" he runs to the designated point and turns back. He passes the plate with the ball to the next player and he starts to run. If you drop the ball - you have to return to the starting line and start running again. To make it more difficult, you can change the ping-pong ball for an egg. Good luck!

Attractions for children in Warsaw is a topic for discussion. In the capital, there are plenty of interesting locations that support the proper development of your child and ensure great fun. If, on the other hand, you are looking for a place where you can come with the whole family and spend time together having active fun, make sure to visit the AIRO Centre for Active Entertainment. Here you will find a trampoline park and a space playroom. Thanks to this combination, active time can be spent together by the whole family. During the week, the cost of play is 20 PLN. On offer are numerous sports activities and educational workshops.

We know that organising active time for our little ones is quite a challenge and over time ideas can run out. That's why we hope this post has inspired you on how to actively spend time with your child. We wish you all the best!
